  WOISD Bond Rating Upgraded
At a recent Board of Trustees meeting WOISD Business Manager David Palacios announced that Standard Poor’s (leading provider of independent credit rating) has upgraded WOISD’s to “A” from BBB+.  A higher bond rating means WOISD is charged a lower interest rate for bond sales, which means it costs WOISD less to borrow money to fund bond initiatives.  WOISD has held a partial sale of the $13.5 million dollar bond issue. A total of $7 million dollars were sold and approved by WOISD trustees on July 1, 2008.
The remaining 6.5 million will be sold at approximately the same time next year
