WOISD THE 2006 TEXAS OUTSTANDING SCHOOL BOARD.
West Oso ISD earned the 2006 Texas Outstanding School Board awarded by Texas Association of School Boards  (TASA).

TASA created the School Board Awards Program in 1971 to recognize those school boards that have demonstrated outstanding dedication and rendered ethical service to the children of Texas.  The criteria emphasize evidence of support for educational performance improvement.

The District Board of Trustees received the award in Houston at the annual Texas Association of School Administrators convention.

We are very pleased to earn the Texas Outstanding School Board Award, as it demonstrates the long-term consistency and dedication of the board members.

WOISD EARNS SUPERIOR FIRST RATING
West Oso ISD officials announced that the district has received a rating of "Superior Achievement" for the fourth consecutive year under Texas' School FIRST  (Financial Accountability Rating System of Texas).

This system shows the performance in the management of school district's financial resources.  The Superior Achievement rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of West Oso ISD’s financial management and reporting system.

The School FIRST rating is based upon an analysis of staff and student data reported for the 2005-2006 school year, and budgetary and actual financial data for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2006
