Board RecognitionWest Oso Independent School District will host a reception to celebrate the District's accomplishments and success at West Oso High School on November 2, 2006 beginning at 6:15 p.m.  Dr. Johnny Veselka, Executive Director with the Texas Association of School Administrators, will present the "Outstanding School Board of Texas for 2006" Award to the West Oso Board of Trustees.  This recognition is a great achievement and honor in the history of West Oso ISD.
 
 
Award GraphicA fifth-grader at West Oso Elementary School Jaraine Hines won a regional public choice award for her poster design "When I Get Mad I Draw" for the 2006 YWCA Week Without Violence Art contest.  Mr. Terry Avery, West Oso Elementary School Principal, gave the recognition to her in the last West Oso ISD board meeting.
 
 
Exams GraphicWest Oso High School TAKS Benchmarks showed that students academic progress is improving.  Eleventh grade classes scored in the 80's and 90's.  Math and science demonstrated a significant improving.
