STUDENTS’ DESK AND LOCKERS |
Students’
desks and lockers are school property and remain under the control and
jurisdiction of the school even when assigned to an individual student.
Students
are fully responsible for the security and contents of the assigned desks and
lockers. Students must be certain that the locker is locked, and that the
combination is nor available to others.
Searches of
desks or lockers may be conducted at any time there is reasonable cause to
believe that they may contain articles or materials prohibited by District
policy, whether or not a student is present.
The parent
will be notified if any prohibited items are found in the student’s desk or
locker.
LUNCH
As part of the district’s efforts to teach good
nutritional habits to students, a free breakfast and lunch program is made
available to all students on a daily basis. The District participates in the
National School Lunch Program and although all meals are free each student must
complete a lunch application form to participate in the program. Information
can be obtained from Mrs. Julia Guevara, Food Services Supervisor, at 289-5465.
Students who bring a lunch from home may use the
cafeteria, but should not bring drinks in glass containers. A student may eat
lunch at home if the principal approves a request by the parent or
guardian. Forms requesting permission are
available in the principal’s office. Students are expected to deposit all
napkins, trays and silverware in the appropriated areas and leave the table and
floor area in a clean condition after they have finished eating. West Oso ISD
is a designated closed campus. Closed campus means you may not leave at
lunchtime. Please contact campus principals for further information. (FDF(L))
