These are some tips for the kids about school bus
safety:
-
If
you are waiting for a school bus, wait quietly in a safe place.
Do not run and play while waiting.
-
If you are standing closer than 10 feet to the bus, the
bus driver and others cannot see you. Stay out of the danger zone!
-
Enter the bus in line with younger
students in front. Go directly to your seat. Remain seated
during the trip.
-
Never play with the emergency exit.
Large equipment should not block the aisle or emergency exits. If
there is an emergency, listen carefully to the driver and follow
instructions.
-
Always speak quietly on the bus, so
the bus driver will not be distracted.
-
Never throw things on the bus or out
the window.
-
Hands should be kept to yourself at
all times.
-
Fighting and picking on others
creates a dangerous bus ride.
-
If something falls under or near the bus, tell the
driver. Never try to pick it up yourself.
-
When you get on or off the bus, look for the bus safety
lights and make sure they are flashing
-
When you get on or off the bus, look left, right, left
before you enter or cross the street. Be alert to the traffic!
-
When the driver says that it is safe to cross the
street, remember to cross in front of the bus.
-
Stay in your seat and sit quietly so the driver is not
distracted.
