PLACEMENT

GRADES K - 9:  A student may be PLACED  in the next grade level if:

The student maintains averages as stated above for promotion but performs below grade level in academic subjects; or

The attendance committee determines that extenuating circumstances exist to waive the minimum requirements of school attendance; or

The campus promotion/retention/placement committee determines that the best interests of the student would be served by such a placement.

With the exception of students from other school districts, the decision to place a student into the next grade level can be made only by the principal, counselor, and teacher who most recently served the student.

GRADES 9 – 12: After the ninth grade, students are classified according to the number of units earned toward graduation.
