Summer is approaching, so kids will spend more time on line surfing the web, chatting with friends, or playing Internet games.  Parents need to be aware and understand the risks and dangers that these activities can have.

Here are some web sites that can offer tips and suggestions to manage your kids' on line experience and keep them safe:

  • Stay Safe on the Internet -Texas Attorney General's Website has tips for kids about Internet security.
  • FBI's Internet Safety for Kids has tips for kids to use the Internet.
  • I-Safe America is a US Congress' website about Internet safety education. It is dedicated to protect the online experiences of youth.
  • Disney Online  is committed to help families to use and enjoy the Internet. The "Safe Surfing" page helps families to become more informed about Internet protection.
  • Netsmartz.org is an interactive, educational safety resource to teach kids and teens how to stay safer on the Internet.
  • Microsoft webpage has tips, articles, links,  a newsletter about security issues, and even, advice from experts is offered.
  • Mcgruff.org is a website created by National Crime Prevention Council which mission is to create safer communities by reducing opportunities for crime. It has advice for parents, tips for kids, and Internet safety pledge for kids.
