INSTRUCTIONAL
TELEVISION |
The District provides through a contract with Whittle Communications the
opportunity for students in grades 7-12 to view a 12-minute educational program
on current events and news items, two minutes of which contain commercial
advertising. A parent who prefers that his or her child not view any commercial
broadcast at school should notify the principal. An appropriate alternative
supervised assignment will be made for the student.
INSURANCE
At the beginning of the school year, the District will make available a
low-cost student accident insurance program. Parents are responsible for paying
premiums (if coverage is desired) and for submitting claims through the business
office. The District will not be responsible for the costs of treating injuries
or assume liability for any other costs associated with an injury. Before
participating in a school-sponsored trip outside the District or in
school-sponsored athletics, students and parents must have (1) purchased the
student accident insurance, (2) shown proof of insurance, or (3) signed a form
rejecting the insurance offer.
JURISDICTION
The District has authority and control over its students during the regular
school day and while going to and from school on District transportation. This
jurisdiction includes any activity during the school day on school grounds,
attendance at any school-related activity, regardless of time or location, and
any school-related misconduct, regardless of time or location.
The District’s rules of student conduct apply to all school-sponsored and
school-related activities, on or off campus. Students who violate these rules
will be subject to disciplinary action.
