About 40% of Texas school districts
and 31% of campuses earned one or more Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPAs).
Districts were eligible for a maximum of 11 possible GPAs, which measure high
performance on certain indicators outlined by the Texas Legislature or the
Commissioner of Education.
The indicators measured for The GPA are: Advance Course Completion, AP (Advanced
Placement), IB (International Baccalaureate) Results, Attendance Rate, Commended
Performance in Reading/ELA, in Mathematics, Writing , Science or Social Studies,
Recommended High School Program (RHSP/DAP (Distinguish Achieve Program),
SAT/ACT Results, TAAS/TASP Equivalency.
The district received a GPA for the Recommended High School
Program. 68.2% of the 2003 graduating class completed the program.
