Board of Trustees  Policies BA, BAA, BBA, BBB, BBE, BE, BEC, BED

The District Policy Manual may be accessed on the Internet at www.tasb.org/policy/pol/private/178915.

Texas law grants the Board of Trustees the power to govern and oversee the management of the District’s schools. The Board is the policy-making body within the District and has overall responsibility for the curriculum, school taxes, annual budget, employment of the superintendent and other professional staff, facilities, and expansions. The Board has complete and final control over school matters within limits established by state and federal law and regulations.

The Board of Trustees is elected by the citizens of the District to represent the community’s commitment to a strong educational program for the District’s children. Trustees are elected annually and serve three-year terms. Trustees serve without compensation, must be registered voters, and must reside in the District.

All District schools are governed by the policies adopted by the District's Board of Trustees in regularly scheduled meetings of the board. Students and parents are encouraged to attend all Board meetings and to become familiar with the adopted policies of the Board. Copies of the Board Policy Manuals are available in each campus library, the office of the campus principal and the office of the Superintendent of Schools. Policy Manuals may be reviewed at any time by any student, parent, teacher or community member subject to availability and any procedural requirements deemed appropriate by the campus principal or superintendent. Policy manuals may not be checked out or removed from the campus grounds.
