ebruary is black history month, and it is a remembrance of important people and events in African American History.  On 1926, Dr. Carter G. Woodson, a Harvard scholar, organized the first Negro History that took place on the second week of February.  Woodson choose this date to coincide with the birthdays of Frederick Douglas and Abraham Lincoln.  Today, February is a four-week long celebration of African American History.

Students from all West Oso ISD are coming together to celebrate this month with different activities. These activities include readings, dances, and different programs representing important events in African American History.
