WEST OSO ISD WELCOMES NEW TEACHERS
As of
Monday, West Oso ISD had hired 21 new teachers and 2 new administrators for the
2007-2008 school year. The new teacher breakdown is as follows: JFK Elementary
School, 5; West Oso Elementary, 4; West Oso Jr. High, 8; and West Oso High
School, 5.
New teacher orientation occurred August 9 and August 10th. A Hawaiian Theme
Welcome Luncheon was hosted on Friday, August 10, 2007 for our new teachers. We
welcome West Oso New Teachers to our West Oso family.

ERATE RFP
West Oso ISD is accepting bids for internal connections, including
Installation and upgrading of existing network and wireless network
infrastructure at several campuses (contingent upon Erate funding). A
mandatory pre-bid meeting was held on January 7th at 10:00 a.m. in the Central
Office building, 5050 Rockford Drive in Corpus Christi.
West Oso ISD is also accepting bids for basic maintenance of internal
connections (contingent upon Erate funding). Click on

Beginning in 2007, Daylight Saving Time was extended one month, and this
year Daylight Saving Time begins at 2:00 am on Sunday, March 9 and ends on

POWERLIFTING SCHEDULE
Powerlifting is a sport that is
performed both competitively and as means of physical fitness. It involves
using one's hands to raise a bar with metal weights to increase one's muscular
ability. Bears in powerlifting training are under strict exercise programs
and nutritional practices. On January 26, Bears and Lady Bears will have

RESULTS FROM THE DISTRICT GOLF MEET
West Oso scored a 330 to Sinton's
325 in the recent District Golf Meet held on April 7th at Sinton golf
course. West Oso placed second to Sinton. Top Medalist for West Oso was
Abraham Rivas who shot an 80.
Other scores are the following: Anthony Martinez shot a 83, Albert Garcia 82,
Jaime Rivas 85 and Andrew Wilburn had a 93. Best four scores are keep for the
final tally. On April 21 and 22, West Oso will play Regionals at the Oso Golf Course
